In 2016 we have a strong incoming class of over 25 new systems PhD students, bringing the overall number to over 75. Overall,the system group includes well over ninety faculty, postdocs, and graduate students.
In 2015, we have a strong incoming class of 15 new systems PhD students, bringing the overall number to fifty. Overall,the system group includes well over sixty-five faculty, postdocs, and graduate students.

If you're a graduating or recent Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline, we are hiring top junior Systems faculty as part of a university strategic initiative to build an extraordinary Systems Group (official recruiting posting ). And while our strategic focus is Data-Intensive Computing, we welcome applications from top candidates in all areas.

In 2016, we hired Blase Ur from CMU and Mike Franklin from UC Berkeley. Other recent hires include Dr. Yanjing Li from Stanford via Intel, Fred Chong from UC Santa Barbara in 2015. Also, Prof. Shan Lu (from Wisconsin), Dr. Ravi Chugh (from UCSD), Dr. Ariel Feldman (from Princeton and UPenn), and Dr. Aaron Elmore (from UCSB and MIT) in 2014! And... even more (not so recent anymore!) hires 2012: Dr. Haryadi Gunawi and Dr. Hank Hoffmann , and in 2011: Prof. Andrew A. Chien, we are growing fast!
